Grade 5 Science Classes

Day 3 (PA Standard 3.1.5A9,B6,C4,A6,B7A8,D4 ) – O: To complete a lab on animal cells. A: Students will complete a lab on what plants and animals are made of.  Eval: Lab activity worksheet and drawing. Enrich: Complete lab activity worksheet and drawing overnight. Accom: N/A

Day 4 (PA Standard 3.1.5A9,B6,C4,A6,B7A8,D4 ) O: To review the parts of a plant and animal cell. A: Students will review the parts of a plant and animal cell with a partner in class. Eval. Student progress. Enrich: Review overnight.

Day 5 (PA Standard 3.1.5A9,B6,C4,A6,B7A8,D4 ) – O: To test plant and animal cell progress. A: Students will complete a test on the parts of a plant and animal cell. Eval. Test. Enrich. None Accom: none.

Day 6 (PA Standard 3.1.5A9,B6,C4,A6,B7A8,D4)– O: To explain that as the number of cells in an organism increases, cells must specialize in one or a few activities in order for the organism to function well. A: Students will read and discuss about tissues, organs, and organ systems from the text page 28 and define vocabulary in their notebooks from the text. Eval: Complete vocabulary overnight. Enrich: Vocabulary due tomorrow.

A: Students will learn about the basic components in a computer from worksheet page 5-7 and by looking at the inside of a computer. Eval: Student performance. Enrich: Practice. Accom: none.

Day 5 (PA Standard 3.7.4.D) O: To learn the basic components of a computer.

A: Students will learn about the basic components in a computer from worksheet page 8-10 and by looking at the inside of a computer. Eval: Student performance. Enrich: Practice. Accom: none.
