Kindergarten
Greet students at the door and explain how to enter and where to sit
I. Listen to music as they come in to stay quiet until everyone is seated
II. Hello (with high and low)
A. “Hello everyone”/students sing “Hello Mr. Spiri”
III. discuss Word Rhythm
IV. Continue to discuss magic pattern (Ti-ti Ti-ti Ti-ti Ta/ ♫ ♫ ♫ l)
A. show examples by learning magic pattern songs
B. review “Nanny Goat” and “Bow, wow, wow”
C. review “Starlight, Starbright”
D. play game (like Duck, duck, goose)
V. review little tune lesson 30 (Periwinkle’s chant)
A. review what a chant is and how it was used in the story
B. review the chant using the cricket, tape, eraser, and pencil
VI. Little Tune Lesson 31 (Cricket’s Lost Chirp) or review if already completed
A. This lesson helps with the students memory by rhyming and rehearsing
B. Read the story Cricket’s Lost Chirp
C. Have children rehearse the rhymes in the story and then have them help tell the story by repeating the rhymes
D. Have students come up with their own rhymes for words (cat, mouse, goat, etc)
