Grading Criteria and Evaluation

 

  • Class participation such as discussions, activities & critiques may be assigned a point value that will contribute to the students' overall grade.
  • All art projects are evaluated based on 4 components as well as the use of formal art elements.

   Effort:

  • How well the student stays on task.
  • How hard the student tries to succeed.

   Craftsmanship:

  • Neatness of finished project.
  • Effort and care which student invests into creating his or her project to make the work of art look professional and appealing.

   Concept Achievement:

  • How well the student grasps the overall idea of the lesson.
  • Whether or not the student fulfilled the requirements of the lesson. (Completed art assignments)

    Overall Success:

  • How successful the student's project is presented upon completion

 

     Art I

      (2nd and 4th Period) 

     * One homework sketch is due each Thursday valued at 5 points per week.

     Objectives

  • Student will learn the elements of perspective.
  • Student will learn to make pencil shaded drawings.
  • Student will improve ability to create realistic portraits.

   Activities.

  • Student will will make shaded drawings of elements of perspective.
  • Student will learn to use grey scale when making pencil drawings.
  • Student will complete drawing exercises in portrait hand out.
