Period: 1 - Basic Biology

 

Objective: The student will demonstrate knowledge of basic biologic concepts connected to genes, alleles, and chromosomes with 85% accuracy through class readings, worksheets, and educational videos.

 

Monday:
  Introduce Chapter 13 in Biology Text.
  Discuss Vocabulary for section 1.
  Students will read the section as a class.
  Review important concepts and complete comprehension questions before the end of class.

  Discuss.

Tuesday:
  Review Vocabulary and other concepts briefly.

  Distribute Section 2 BYR Worksheet.

  Explain Directions.

  Allow Students to complete Worksheet.

  Monitor Student Progress.

  Collect Worksheet and Discuss.

 
Wednesday:
  Review Chapter 13 section 1.
  Distribute Chapter 13.2 Before you read worksheets.

  Students will note meanings of the vocabulary words as a class.
  Monitor responses.
  Begin Reading Section 2.
  Allow students to complete comprehension questions when finished.


Thursday:
  Review vocabulary from chapter 13 section 1 & 2.
  Read Chapter 13 Section 3.
  Review Comprehension Questions at the end of the section.

  Review as Important concepts as a class.


Friday:
  Students will note vocabulary for all sections of chapter 13.

  Review important concepts of genetic technology and breeding.

  Students will complete Review worksheets.

  Discuss important concepts as a review.

 

 

Period: 2 - Basic Mathematics

 

Objective:  TSW demonstrate basic knowledge of Lines, Line Segments, Rays, Planes, Angles, and Meassures  through in class instruction, guided practice, and worksheets with 80% accuracy.

 

Monday:
   Introduce Angles to the class.

   Complete example problems on the board.

   Discuss the use of protractor and measuring angles.

   Complete problems 25-31.

Tuesday:
Discuss acute, right, obtuse, and straight angles.

Demonstrate examples of each.

Review problems completed yesterday.

Introduce Angle Pairs.

Complementary and Supplementary.

Discuss Vertical, Congruent, Transverse, Interior, and Exterior angles.

Perform examples of theses concepts on the board.

Complete the check for understanding.
  

Wednesday:
Review key concepts: Complementary, Supplementary, Vertical, Congruent, Transverse, Interior, and Exterior angles.

Perform examples on the board.

Complete problems 1-5 as a class.

Allow students to complete problems 6-12 independently.

Check as a class.

Thursday:
Review Complementary, Supplementary, Vertical, Congruent, Transverse, Interior, and Exterior angles.

Have students complete 13-20.

Discuss answers as a class.

Introduce Classifying Triangles.

Friday:
Classifying Triangles.

Acute, Obtuse, and Right.

Examples 1 & 2.

Equilateral, Isosceles, Scalene Triangles.

Examples 3 & 4.

Complete Problems 1-15.

 

 

Period: 3 - Basic History

 

Objective: TSW demonstrate knowledge of early American history with an 80% accuracy rate through exploratory reading, reading of text, educational videos and class discussions.

 

Monday:

  • Introduce Chapter 15 section 1:.
  • Students will review the chapter timeline in their notebooks.
  • Read Part 1:
  • Students will complete comprehension questions at the end of the reading.
  • Discuss concepts as a class.
  •  

Tuesday:

  • Introduce part 2 of chapter 15.
  • Read this section as a class.
  • Discuss the events of the time period.
  • Students will complete comprehension questions.

Wednesday:

  • Introduce section 3 of chapter 15.
  • Read the section out loud as a class.
  • Students will make note of events in their notebooks.
  • Students will complete comprehension questions at the end of the section.

Thursday:

  • Review the readings of the chapter to this point.
  • Students will complete comprehension questions at the end of the reading.
  • Discuss concepts as a class.

Friday:

  • Introduce Chapter 15 section 4.
  • Students will complete the chapter timeline in their notebooks.
  • Break the document into its parts.
  • Discuss as a class.
  • Class activity.

 

 

Period: 4 - Basic Reading

 

Objective:  Given instructions or directions, the students will complete projects through the understanding of sequence and authors purpose with 90% accuracy.

 

Monday:

  • Students will select a short story to read.
  • They will document all important information related to the story.
  • Students will read throughout the period.
  • They will then write a brief summary of the reading.

 

Tuesday:

  • Students will select a short story to read.
  • They will document all important information related to the story.
  • Students will read throughout the period.
  • They will then write a brief summary of the reading.

Wednesday:

  • Students will select a short story to read.
  • They will document all important information related to the story.
  • Students will read throughout the period.
  • They will then write a brief summary of the reading.

 

Thursday

  • Students will select a short story to read.
  • They will document all important information related to the story.
  • Students will read throughout the period.
  • They will then write a brief summary of the reading.

Friday:

  • Students will read a short story and answer comprehension questions related to the reading.
  • Monitor student progress and examine comprehension rates.
