Elementary Physical Education: Presidential Fitness Testing:  The Mile Run/Walk

 

Objectives:

 

1.  The students will be able to complete a practice mile run/walk.

2.  The students will be able to complete the mile run/walk at their individual fastest pace.

 

Activities:

 

1.      Complete practice mile

2.      Complete mile for a time

 

Evaluation:

 Health 7 -  What is Health?

 

Objectives

  1. The students will be able to list the 3 components of health.
  2. The students will be able to identify the factors that effect our health.
  3. The students will be able to explain the difference between health and wellness.
  4. The students will be able to describe ways to improve the various components of health.
Activities
  1. Notes
  2. Creating a health collage
  3. Performing skits

  Health 9 unit- Health and Wellness


Objectives.

    1. The students will be able to list the 6 components of health.
    2. The students will be able to define the 6 components of health.
    3. The students will be able to describe how one can improve each component of health.
    4. The students will be able to define values.
    5. The student will be able to define wellness and describe how to achieve it.

Objectives

    3. Students will demonstrate agility while performing the shuttle run.
       

Activities.

  1. Running/Walking a mile
  2. Performing Shuttle Run

  1. Subjective teacher observations (participation, PE clothes, sportsmanship and conduct)

 

 

Phys Ed. Senior High & 8th Grade:  Presidential Fitness Testing
 

Objectives

    1. Students will be able to complete a practice mile running/walking.
    2. Students will be able to complete a mile run/walk at their individual fastest pace.
    3. Students will demonstrate agility while performing the shuttle run.
       

Activities.

  1. Running/Walking a mile
  2. Performing Shuttle Run

 

 Evaluation

  1. Subjective teacher observations (participation, PE clothes, sportsmanship and conduct)

Fitness Exploration:  Aerobics

Objectives:

1.  The students will be able to  perform movements that enhance cardiovascular endurance.
2.  The students will be able to build muscular endurance while using body weight and dumbbells during instruction.
3.  The students will be able to develop muscle tone of the biceps, triceps, deltoids, abs, gluts, hamstrings, quads, and calves through instruction and activity.
4.  The students will be able to increase hand-eye and hand-foot coordination through jumping rope.

 

Activities:

1.  Following along with instructor and videos
2.  Creation of routine

Evaluation:

1.  Dress for class
2.  Participation

  1. The student will be able to identify the particular lifts to be evaluated and improved
  2. The student will be able to complete the lifting charts
  3. The student will be able to identify a compatible partner
  4. The student will be able to demonstrate proper use of equipment
Activities
  1. Perform 2 warm-up exercises prior to lifting for 2 minutes
  2. Partner lifting for four exercises
  3. Completion of the lifting chart
Evaluation
  1. Participation in class
